Perfect for Mothers Day
Honor your loved ones!

Tribute cards to honor a loved one, or Memorial Cards in honor of the deceased, are available from the Christ Child Society. A $10 donation is all that is asked, and the funds go to support our layette program which helps needy newborns right here in our area. The beautiful cards are available in the rectory, or by contacting Mary Kull at 908 273 0555 or marykull@att.net.

Congratulations Christ Child Society!

Congratulations to the Christ Child Society of Summit on receiving their Charter at the National Christ Child Society convention in Cleveland, this past September. The Summit Chapter now joins 43 other chapters, across the country, in serving at risk children in their local communities. The Summit Chapter has worked tirelessly over the last few years in helping children in our area. The Chapter has provided over 200 layettes annually to needy children through Overlook’s Healthstart program and the Area Baby Center; and teamed with Bridges Outreach to provide school supplies to over 300 Summit public school children this year.

Thanks you to the St. Teresa’s community for all of your wonderful support.

Annual Baby Shower Update

On March 25th, the Summit Chapter of the Christ Child Society held its 4th Annual Baby Shower Luncheon to benefit at risk children in the community. The event was open to anyone who donated a layette item (receiving blanket, onsies, pajama, etc.) or made a financial donation to purchase layette items. To date, the organization has collected enough items to distribute over 800 complete layettes to new mothers of at risk children.

At the luncheon, Angela Schroeder, of Summit, received the Mary Virginia Merrick award for her contributions to the Society. The award is given to members of the organization that exemplifies the spirit, values and service of their founder Mary Virginia Merrick. Mrs. Schroeder was the founder of the “Knitting Angels” group who create handmade layette items for donation.

In addition to the Annual Baby Shower, the Society has an annual school supplies drive and collects and distributes holiday gifts to local families in need.

The Christ Child Society is dedicated to helping at risk children in our area regardless of race or creed.
